Lockdown during the COVID-19 pandemic felt like imprisonment, and during that time, the amygdala went into a state of chaos and unrest. Deep within the shadows of our mental landscape, the prefrontal cortex remained hidden, distant and nearly unreachable. Masks easily adorned the limbic system, emphasizing the strange new reality we faced. But then, at long last, the metaphorical prison bars of the COVID-19 lockdown began to dissolve. The brain stem, along with the middle and upper brain, collectively pronounced their heartfelt gratitude, celebrating the return of freedom and the restoration of balance.
The Unique Brain of K is a young woman who has attended private school throughout her entire life, experiencing a unique educational journey. She worked diligently and successfully earned her Master’s Degree. After completing that significant milestone, she decided to pursue further education and enrolled in a doctorate program. However, God or nature presented her with a myriad of challenges that she had to face. The wiring within her brain began to activate in extraordinary and unconventional ways, leading to behaviors that did not align with society's accepted norms. Thus, Ms. K found herself grappling with the difficulty of learning how to conform to societal expectations with the new neurological wiring present in her mind.
